run = "web.src" F:\WWW\ISV\DOC\ [ ml-2 ] "Don't Touch My Car!!!" compilation, 2004, Mile 329 "Don't Touch My Car!!" is a compilation of extraordinary magnitude... Mile329 has my gratitude! Featuring artists from France, Sweden, Japan, and the U.S., DTMC brings together work from such talented artists as Tarmvred, Skincage, Dissecting Table, Exclipsect, Idyl, Naked Intruder, Der Eisenrost [Chu Ishikawa & crew... remember the music in Tetsuo the Iron Man, Fudoh, and Tokyo Fist?], and myself-- iSv-- among others. For "ML-2," the only intrument I used was the Casio "Magic Light" ML-2 keyboard. Large portions of this track were composed at night, with only the E.T.-esque red glow of the keys for company. Mixing more nimble middle eastern audio flavors and memories of Prince of Persia with the more up-front, tough posturing of games like Contra, Double Dragon, etc., I wanted the song to go through many changes, contain some recurring themes, and simply be as infectious as possible. I would have liked the output to have been a little hotter levels-wise, but then again, I was working with a chunk of battery-operated grey and purple plastic. I was about to move to New Hampshire, and everything [including the rest of my gear] was in storage-- I was literally sleeping in a corner of my empty apartment on a borrowed air mattress with nothing but a pile of coats under and above me as sheets/pillows/warmth. Still, writing this track was a blast. I'd love to revisit original NES titles like Ikari Warriors, Ninja Gaiden, Rygar, and Karnov, then compose an entire CD in a similar vein to this track. In fact, I plan on it... [ back to EAR ] |
