The history and djs of...

BW3's was a bar/restaurant in a prime location, one block down on the
Kirkwood Avenue strip leading away from the IUB campus' Sample Gates.
For whatever reason, they packed up and moved off, which is when it was
remodeled and renamed Gatacca. The focus this time around was that it was
going to be a new breed of dance club, something the other venues in town
were lacking and simply would not be able to replicate. This club opened
its doors the second week of November 1999 with an underground advertising
strategy and a formidable club setting, complete with a truly awesome
lighting array.

It was right about that time that DJ K80, relatively new to the area and having djed at The Dive in CO and a radio station in MN, met DJ Rasp.utin. Rasputin had been a regular dj at Indianapolis' former events Bedlam and Discordian Nights with DJ Spectre and crew, and Bloomington's Vinyl Knights. He is still an occasional guest dj at Club Dominion, Cathedral, The Loft, and a regular spinner at LE's Eroticon, Ultraspank, and Erotic Masquerade Ball in Bloomington; and he djs at their Freak Skate! parties now as well.

Dj sammael, fresh from work at most of the same venues that Rasp.utin spun at, was also looking for work. The three djs quickly formed a plan of attack, and presented a formal entertainment package to local clubs in hopes of finally scoring an Industrial/80s/Electronic night in Bloomington. Gatacca, the newest club in town, eagerly took the bait.

Two test gigs were held in late December before the closing before winter break, but the trio got back to spinning every Wednesday night for hours on end. Though the night was in its infancy, raving reviews were already being posted and the amount of amazing, loyal, fun regulars was steadily increasing.

Did you get to see the deadly precision of the chaos that was Relapse > Prolapse before it all collapsed to dust?
