SHARD is an electronic band.
SHARD is the raised left fist of the Slave Indvstries Collective.
SHARD is anti-corporatism.
Make no mistake: the dystopian world of 1984 is fully upon us, and in infinitely subtler
ways than Orwell could have possibly imagined. To us, this "modern" world of economic
"progress" is an abomination. Democracy, if it can be called that, is a place where
virulent chain stores such as Wal-Mart-- still head and shoulders above its competitors
at the top of the Fortune 500-- are not only permitted, they are welcomed and encouraged
by the cities that are quickly suffocated and yolked into their submission. Why does our
species permit this cultural suicide at the hands of profiteering executives?
Independent business is dead. Advertising is omnipresent.
Corporations operate according to the whims of three crucial mantras:
STYLE OVER CONTENT
QUANTITY OVER QUALITY
FORM OVER FUNCTION
We cannot change things on our own, but our numbers are growing. Together, we represent
the lifeblood of big business: we are their employees, their customers. United, we can
also spell their downfall.
